What is a Blugold? Thats a good question, I have heard different ideas including; a misspelling of bulldogs, a mythical bird. According to an old spectator article I found, it is more of a state of being than an actual thing. "Blugold means doing or dying," ex athletics director Dean Willis Zorn said in the 1967 article. "It would be hard to get used to doing or dying for something else." So the answer is that our mascot is nothing, its actually a spirit that we all carry with us.
